The basic process All equipment used in the practice of NEUROCRYOSTIMULATION (also known as hyperbaric gaseous cryotherapy) is patented. The use of CO2 at -78°C under high pressure causes the skin temperature to fall from 32°C to 2°C within 30 seconds; this reaction is known as a : thermal shock
Critical Conditions for Thermal Shock
For Thermal Shock, the cutaneous neuroreceptors must be stimulated by a sudden drop in skin temperature, from 32°C to 4°C, in 30 seconds, at a pressure greater than 1 bar. Thermal Shock can only be achieved when sudden and dramatic changes in temperature and pressure affect the neuro-receptors.
